Once there was an ugly bathroom.
With a sink from 1974.
In a house from 1928.
Then there was a flea market.
With a lovely
porcelain
pedestal
sink.
From 1928.
Perfect!
She bought it.
She dragged
all 96 pounds of it
home.
He pointed out the bit
where the porcelain needed fixing.
And the issues with the drain.
"But I like it."
He said.
"We'll get around to it."
They said.
It took up residence
on the screened back porch.
Where it confounded visitors
who wanted to wash their hands.
But couldn't.
And there it sat.
Not getting repaired.
NOT making its way upstairs.
For 10 years.
Then she saw a garden.
Full of beautiful vintage objects
covered in mosaic.
AHA!!
She had a plan.
And a talented friend.
Named Tom.
Who happened to be
a wonderful mosaic artist.
He told her to search her house
for fun
small
unneeded
but loved
objects.
And he brought some too.
They got to work.
The sink was transformed.
And proudly took its place
among the greenery
of the back garden.
But there is still an ugly bathroom.
With a sink from 1974.
I feel as though the rest of these are like looking at an "I Spy" book - see how many different little things you can find!
