My ice-scrapers (2 of them + one snow brush with no scraper) never leave the boot of my car. Haven't lost one for ages (and no I don't need them all year even though I live in Iceland ;) They really, really don't take up all that much space in the boot... :þ

Gloves/mittens are a totally different issue, though.
