Pic of the Week - The Last Bouquet

The snow finally arrived yesterday (and boy, did it arrive - over 8 inches). This was the last bouquet of flowers gathered from my garden at the unseasonably late date of December 5.

The cold weather took this bee by surprise - she is frozen to the flower. She disappeared a couple of days later - maybe eaten by a bird - I'd like to think she thawed out and flew away.

Derailment of a Day

Got about 8-10 inches of snow today. Needless to say, much of the day was spent shoveling. Pictures later.

Hoping not to have to cancel tonight's meeting.

This is the work of son #2. It won him a full scholarship to an art institute summer program in Iowa last summer and is one of the reasons we drug him to three cartooning events this fall. His current hope is to attend art school and eventually work somewhere like Pixar.
