I thought this was the week when my life was going to move forward in big ways.
Both Carthage College and UW Parkside are finished until Fall Semester
My youngest child had her last day of school on Tuesday. My second son finished High School on Wednesday and will graduate Sunday.
Last week I finished up a grueling fundraising drive on Kickstarter for the Kenosha Festival of Cartooning.
And the doctor has seen enough new bone growth to move me to "50% weight bearing".
Things were looking good.
Until yesterday at 1:56 pm when, yet again, I was in a car accident.
(I say "yet again" because, since 2004, John and I have been hit by other drivers Four Times! I've written about all those fun little accidents here.)
Driving along, minding my own business, and Wham! Sideswiped.
I feel bad for the guy who hit me - his truck was smoking and the power failed and he was trying to get to the side of the road and I just happened to be in the way.
But....
Now I don't just have a broken leg to occupy me - I get to deal with new doctors and physical therapists and body shops and car rentals. Yada Yada Yada......
So, if you are one of the legions of folks who need something from me - especially if it's related to the Kenosha Festival of Cartooning or the new website I'm supposed to be working on for my daughter's school - be patient with me. I will get to it.
But I think I'm going to bed for two days......

The main cause of most accidents is carelessness. When on the road, drivers should, at all times, keep their focus because there’s very little room for mistakes. Anyway, I hope you’re fine and that you weren’t that traumatized by the incident. How are you doing now?

Nobody ever likes to be in a car accident. I feel sorry for you and for the truck driver. Anyway, did you consider filing a legal settlement about this? It could be a great move to seek assistance to get a full compensation from what happened. Stay safe!

You don’t seem to have a phobia of cars, at the very least. The first and only time I got caught in an accident devastated me way too much. I still haven’t found the courage to drive on my own a year and four months after the accident, to be exact. But above all these, I’m amazed that you didn’t fail to see the other driver’s situation. You were attentive; it’s just that things just happen. I just hope car accident ‘curse’ gets dispelled soon!
